Android 11 & 12 WiFi Certificate Procedure

PROCEDURE FOR CONNECTING ANDROID 11 & 12 SMARTPHONES TO WIFI

NB: This is specifically for Smartphones that requires Certificate for Connection. Follow the below procedure for successful connection.

1.     Click on this link PU-WIFI Certificate to download the Certificate to your phone.

2.   Once downloaded, locate the zipped file on your phone using File Manager (mostly in Downloads Folder) and UNZIP (or UNCOMPRESS) it.

3.    Install the Certificate by navigating to WiFi settings, WIFI Preferences, Install certificate option then locate the unzipped certificate file on your phone (Most likely on the Downloads Folder), give it a name e.g. PUWIFI and import/install.

This process installs the certificate 

4. Tap PU-WIFI or eduroam on the list of WiFi and Select options as below:

Security: WPA2 Enterprise

EAP Method: PEAP

Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2

CA Certificate: Select the installed Certificate which is PUWIFI

Online Certificate Status: Do not verify

Domain:          pu.ac.ke

Identity:          RegNo@pu.ac.ke (Without /)

Password:         RegNo (With /)

   6. Tap Connect Button. (This will connect to PU-WIFI successfully)

NB// The above procedure may vary based on your phone model but this is a typical procedure for most Android 11 & 12 Versions
